Digital storytelling; stories are important

I didn't realize there were so many ways to produce stories on the computer. I have used Photo Story before, but I look forward to learning how to use Movie Maker. Although I have not been impressed with the Wolf View presentations using it.

Podcasts

I think podcasts are a great way to communicate with students. I loved the idea about communicating with homebound teachers and homebound students. This may be the avenue we've been waiting for to replace going to school at all. All students can now be schooled from home by podcast.

Wikis

I also think this could be a useful tool for students to collaborate after a laboratory. They could share data, analyze and conclude just like real-world scientific investigations.

I think I could probably use this to create the correct answer to an essay question with my US History Class. It would have been a great help to have had one last night when the eight students from my USC Psychology Class didn't show up for their study session last night. They may have been less intimidated about communicating this info to me thru a blog or a wiki. I think this can be a great writing tool for all disciplines. A suggestion for Math students is to develope some way of successfully putting math problems into written form.
